As mandated by the Jamaica Customs Agency, Customs brokers handle the clearance of goods on behalf of importers and exporters. Being knowledgeable of government duties, licensing and other
regulations, they are critical to the speedy clearance of products.
Organizations operating as Freight Forwarders handle the shipment of customers' goods on their behalf. This takes into consideration the handling, booking of shipping agents as well as the
management of their clients’ consignments.
How will things change?
Customs brokers will continue to use Customs' ASYCUDA World System to create their declarations. Once they have been associated with the clearance of specific goods, they will benefit from the
visibility provided by the PCS.
